Recently, we were approached by the REWD Group (Real Estate Wealth Development) – a business which, amongst other things, offers expert-led courses to help its clients get ahead in the property business. The folks at REWD were looking for a new website with an integrated suite of high-quality e-learning courses, aimed at training entrepreneurs to succeed in building wealth through property, using their vast knowledge and experience in the industry.
This brought them to Crunchy Carrots; the perfect destination for any business looking to grow and develop its digital marketing prowess.
In essence, they were looking to set up an additional stream of revenue by offering their training courses as an online experience as well as an in-person one and to achieve this with a brand-new website. How then, you’re probably wondering, did we manage to achieve a positive outcome for the client, meeting their needs, and then some? Well, let us tell you:
Firstly, let’s look at some of the challenges that we faced in taking on this project for REWD Group, and how we applied our expert solutions to succeed in their aims and objectives …
Before taking this side of their business online, REWD delivered courses in person. Transferring REWD’s curriculum into a digital form required a lot of work; from digitising the educational content to streamlining the enrolment and payment processes. It’s a good thing, then, that we’re not a one-trick pony when it comes to digital marketing and could deliver a bespoke solution to these challenges.
Not only did we design and build an attractive, intuitive website on which they’d host their online courses, but we provided top-of-line photography and videography services to ensure that their new e-learning courses retained the same level of quality as their in-person offering.
The beauty of creating these e-learning courses in the way that we did is that our client was able to open a stream of passive income. This meant they only had to produce the content on a one-time basis, and their customers are now able to access the courses at any time; 24/7, 365 days a year… easy peasy!
Moving their training modules to an online-delivery model wasn’t without its concerns, though. Of course, whilst it’s always an aim of REWD Group that their clients take plenty of knowledge and inspiration away with them from their training modules, they were wary of the possibility of their e-learning content being used out-with their control or plagiarised.
When educating clients in person, REWD were safe in the knowledge that their modules were not being recorded for future use, without their consent. We worked closely with them to implement a solution to address this concern.
We utilised two types of software on the website which handled different aspects of protecting their data:
- We implemented browsing parameters, whereby users couldn’t right-click on the site’s learning content, preventing any imagery from being saved or text from being copied.
We also disabled the use of popular keyboard commands such as CTRL+C and CTRL+V – this ensured the maximum protection of all written content on the website.
- We locked users’ accounts to a single login at a time to avoid users sharing credentials, meaning they could only view from one device at any given time.
- Each of the videos for the courses was uploaded to Vimeo which allowed us to control the privacy settings for each lesson. This meant that videos could only be viewed when they were hosted on the REWD Training domain name when a user was logged in.
Copying the links to the training videos stopped them from playing, and screen recording software was disabled whilst customers were viewing a video.
Since the launch of their new website, with integrated e-learning courses, REWD has seen a conversion rate of site visits to course purchases of almost two-thirds!
Achieving this through a reusable resource on an easy-to-use website makes it all the better, given our client is now able to use this as a reliable, constant revenue stream, alongside their other operations.
