It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of Strathcarron Hospice’s virtual Light Up a Life campaign towards the end of 2020. We were approached by Strathcarron to produce the video for what was usually a live event held every year at the Hospice, a Christmas tradition which many held close to their hearts.
2020 was a difficult year for so many, not least the hospices up and down the country, many of which required further funding to continue providing the service of professional care. We were more than happy to donate our video production services free of charge to support this amazing charity.
The video was filmed with social distancing measures in place and all appropriate PPE was worn throughout. It was shot over two visits to the Hospice as we captured the voiceovers, the Reverend’s prayers and reflection, the lighting of the candle and the Christmas Tree lights coming on.
Footage of the Dunblane Cathedral Handbell Ringers and the Strathcarron Singers Choir was kindly put together and sent to us. We intercut this with our footage to create a full virtual ceremony, including an emotional montage juxtaposing images from the Strathcarron Hospice social media page in 2020 with the Reverend’s beautiful prayer and message of hope.
We were delighted to learn that the video was well received by the hospice and its patrons. It provided much needed warmth and comfort for so many during the festive period. We are glad to have been a part of the project and look forward to working with Strathcarron Hospice in the future.
“From the start to the end of our project, Scott & Andy at Crunchy Carrots were calm, methodical and had a creative eye for detail. Their calm and approachable nature made the process smooth and uncomplicated. The end result was a beautiful video for our Hospice Remembrance Service which has deeply touched and brought comfort to a multitude of people. All of this has been amazingly and safely achieved in the midst of a global pandemic. Thank you.”
