Andy Talks TV & Digital Art
What has kept you busy during the last year in lockdown?
The past year has given me the opportunity to binge-watch all the ‘Golden Age’ TV shows people have been telling me to watch for years, but I’d never got round to because I have serious trust issues. We managed to consume The Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire and, vitally, Married at First Sight Australia. All 10/10.
I have also been brushing up on my Digital Art skills. Having recently acquired an iPad, I have been using it with the world’s most expensive pencil to create stuff on Pro Create. You can see some examples of my work below!
What tips would you give to someone looking to get into digital art?
For absolute beginners, download the app Pro Create from the Apple Store and follow as many YouTube tutorials as you can, start very simple and learn to walk before you can run, as the saying goes. It’s a very intuitive app, especially if you already have experience using different mediums from painting to charcoal.
Highlight of the past year?
I could name any of the countless attempts of defending by Shane Duffy, but I think I’ll have to go for Rangers winning their 55th league title. That and the many drunken Zoom Calls I’ve had with friends and family – it’s amazing how you can still wake up with “The Fear” without stepping foot outside of your house.
What are you most looking forward to after lockdown?
Pubs, cinemas, gigs, travelling, seeing pals and catching up on family parties.
